Jack Digirolamo netted two goals and added two assists, as the Canton High School Bulldogs defeated the Wakefield Warriors on Friday night at Ponky.
The Bulldogs took command of the game early through three first period powerplay goals. Digirolamo would start the scoring finding a loose puck in the slot and firing it into the back of the net for the 1-0 lead. Later, Teddy Shuman would collect a pass at the left faceoff circle and beat the Wakefield goalie for his first varsity goal. On the very next shift, Jeff Chaput would redirect a Digirolamo pass across the goal line for a 3-0 Bulldogs lead.
However, Canton would let the Warriors back into the game with some untimely penalties. Wakefield would cut the lead to one early in the second after two powerplay goals. Colin Blake would help regain the two goal lead yet again on the powerplay with a nice wraparound off the rush.
Wakefield would cut the lead to one again in the third with another powerplay goal, before Digirolamo would get his second of the night and end the scoring at 5-3.
Canton opens up its Hockomock schedule with Foxboro at home on Wednesday. Puck drops at 4:00 PM.
