The Canton High School Boys ice hockey team enters the second half of their season with a 10-2-0 record. After suffering their first loss of the season to archival Franklin, the Bulldogs rattled off three solid wins in a row against Oliver Ames (2-1), King Philip (4-0) and Newburyport (3-0) before losing to Archbishop Williams 5-3 in a non-league game.

Junior Brendan Tourgee continues to pace the offense, while seniors AJ Thomas, Jeff Chaput, and Jack Digirolamo have been steady contributors since the start of the new year. Senior James Young continues to have a stellar season on the blue line, emerging into one of the best defensemen in the Hockomock League.

Several players earned their first varsity goals in the last six games, including 9th graders Cullen O'Brien, Michael Thomas, Joey Ryan, and James Howard. Junior Kevin LaBelle also notched his first career varsity goal against Newburyport.

The Bulldogs celebrate Senior Night on Wednesday and will take place in first round of the Ed Burns Coffee Pot tournament the following Sunday. Seedings for the tournament as well as game times are expected by Friday.
